Rachel McAdams carries Quilted Miu Miu Satchel

Rachel McAdams was spotted in NYC the other day with the fabulous new Miu Miu quilted front-lock satchel in a light blue shade. The satchel features a chevron-quilted leather with a woven top handle – an overall great texture. Although I’m not usually a fan of the belted flap styles, I think it contributes to the great structure. The use of silver hardware also helps avoid a more traditional look, differentiating it from the likes of the Alexa bag. Plus, it looks great with the off-white colour!

Though I wasn’t particularly partial to the Miu Miu fall accessories, I love this new satchel and I think it might even compare to the Vitello Lux – albeit a bit pricier!  It seems to be coming a celebrity favourite though, Cheryl Cole was spotted carrying the bag in Cannes earlier this year.

The quilted front-lock satchel isn’t available just yet but you can pre-order it on the Bergdorf Goodman online store for $1990

Resort 2011 Highlights

I thought that posting an overview of every great designer would take quite a while so instead I’ve decided to post what I thought to be the highlights of the 2010 resort collections – focusing on handbags and accessories as usual. If there’s any others which you loved feel free to post your favourites in the comments below! 🙂

Alexa Chung carries Russell & Bromley Leopard Print Bag

It seems like these photos of Alexa Chung have been all over the internet the past few days after someone identified her dress as very last season (Spring 2007 to be exact) Kate Moss for Topshop – shocking!

Though I was more obsessed with the cute little leopard print bag she was carrying from Russell & Bromley, the calf-skin purse which has a chanel-like interlaced chain is an almost affordable £165. It almost seems quite low when you compare it to the prices of similar, leopard print choices such as Dolce and Gabbana or Lanvin and seems like a nice choice for summer. I love how Alexa’s paired it with the floral dress, which works really well.

I hear that the bag also comes in dalmation print but is that a bit too much?

Accessories in Vogue Italia May 2010

Although this editorial from Vogue Italias May 2010 issue was entitled ‘Bathing Beauties’ I couldn’t help but focus on the stunning handbags featured, including ones by Chanel, Miu Miu, Prada and Valentino. Definitely blog-worthy photos! Scans are massive so I’ve put them behind the cut.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Cheche Bohemian – Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell was spotted carrying the Louis Vuitton Bohemian in rouge from the S/S 2010 collection while in Cannes last week and as while leaving the Ritz earlier today. The bag features the stylish Monogram Cheche design – LV’s classic monogram with an urban edge. I did love the messenger bags for the modern traveler style in LV’s spring collection but I like the way Naomi’s adjusted the strap here to be worn as a shoulder bag, for a smarter look.

More photos of the bag behind the cut!

Yves Saint Laurent Muse Two Limited Editions

French store Colette has some exclusive fall ’10/11 pre-collection editions of the Muse Two bag from YSL which come in very limited quantities. The first has only 55 units worldwide and is covered in impala fur with leather straps, selling for just over £1600.

The second version is a military inspired design available in several colours, all vintage canvas and 32 x 22cm. These two retail at just over £1200 with only 105 of the khaki shade (pictured behind the cut) and the other in a very limited 23 units. In comparison to many other limited edition ‘it’ bags these prices almost seems quite reasonable!
