Celebrity Handbags ft. Gucci, YSL and Bottega Veneta

With the arrival of fashion bloggers and Instagram influencers there seems to be a lot less focus on the stereotypical celebrities we once fawned over. That doesn’t make their style moments any less impressive though, and with mega-babes like Ashley James blurring the line between blogger and TV personality, who’s to say what’s the best source of bagspo?

Here’s my round-up of top celebrity handbag sightings this week:

Model Alessandra Ambrosio was topped off her casual ensemble with the not-so-casual Bottega Veneta ‘City Knot leather shoulder bag’, which retails for around £2,925.

Ashley Benson x YSL
Pretty Little Liars is one of my favourite guilty pleasures, so I was happy to see this shot of actress Ashley Benson sporting the Saint Laurent leather shoulder bag – my go-to day to night purse. You can find it for £1,090 online at Selfridges.

Ashley James x Aspinal of London
I love coming across captivating styles that I’m not familiar with and how cool does Ashley James look in the Aspinal of London Oxford Rucksack? Also – can we keep using the word rucksack? It’s reminds me of my primary school days.

Alessandra Ambrosio with Marc Jacobs Nina Bag

Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted out with her adorable daughter, Anja in NYC yesterday carrying a new Marc Jacobs handbag. The bohemian style ‘Nina’ bag was a perfect addition to her outfit. The bag has a brown leather flap with metallic charms, colourful ties and a Marc Jacobs stamped padlock on the strap. If you have  around $1700 spare this seems like an ideal festival bag and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on the likes of Pixie Geldof and Alexa Chung this summer.

As far as I’m aware this bag isn’t currently available online, however you can purchase the similar Imogen shoulder bag on Net-a-Porter, which features the same hanging charms and detail albeit a little more rectangular. It also features a satin lined interior, an open pocket and a zipped pocket.

Although I didn’t initially recall the Imogen from the runway (pictured below) I love how the style juxtaposes with the clean-cut, pinstriped military jacket. Definitely one of my favourite collections of the season so I was glad to see Marc Jacobs win best womenswear designer at the CFDA last week.
